Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our financial operations team as a full-time accounting clerk. This individual will work closely with our Senior Accounting Analyst and our Chief Financial Officer to assist with all aspects of the accounting function at Bloom Burton.  

Responsibilities: 

  •  Maintain the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets including:  
    • Prepare all asset and liability account entries;
    • Prepare depreciation schedules for fixed assets, as well as calculate and maintain prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and deferred taxes;
    • Deposit and send payments while validating the appropriate documentation;
    • Produce all cheques to support business operations;
  • Analysis of financial statements and trial balances for subsidiary companies;Process and reconcile bank accounts and intercompany transactions;
  • Calculate and prepare the appropriate tax remittance forms on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis;
  • Prepare and enter employee expense reimbursements while reconciling and validating receipts;
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports as requested by the senior accounting analyst or CFO;
  • Monitor and track investments, and record monthly gains/losses using the appropriate accounting treatment;
  • Monitor and track expenses incurred for various Bloom Burton events;
  • Abide by the internal control procedures to ensure financial security.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Business or Accounting;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks considered an asset;
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong teamwork skills;
  • High level of organizational skills and strong attention to detail;
  • Willingness to learn.
